"I saw a documentary about aging actors. They had one thing in common; they had recorded what they used to look like.


Last November I turned 55 years old. I've been strength training since I was 20, but I didn't have a photo showing it. So I approached coach Demi to get in top shape (more muscle mass and shredded), and then plan a photo shoot at the end of the 6-month process. It required discipline, consistency and commitment through meal planning and nutrition tracking.


A few weeks before the shoot I did spinning 5 times a week at 6:00 am. And after work straight to the gym 5 times a week. 2 weeks before the shoot, eat a lot of the same food and drink a lot of water. The photo shoot was with Jeroen de Beer on December 10. I am happy that I took this step and I am proud of the result and the many positive reactions.

I had been unhappy with myself for a few months. Constantly tired, little to no energy, and exercising only when absolutely necessary. Above all, this “questionable” eating habits in combination with a busy job completed my vicious circle.


At the beginning of the year, I was finally determined to make some radical changes. Step one was to get help. I was enthusiastic after the first conversation with Demi. A little less with the homework, because I now really had to think about my habits and the first measurement confirmed what the eye already knew. Looking back, this was the best eye-opener I needed.
